I was kind of indifferent to the bearded devil when I first learned he was purple instead of red. He looked different enough than my legacy ones, that I feared he would be a no go for me. But after placing him on the table with the others, he isn’t terribly out of place. I do wish he was more red, but I think I can use him as is in my warband.

The Stirges had my attention as soon as I found out they were being made. I was a little bummed, thinking I may end up replacing my Bloodbug collection, but after all, these were D&D versions of Stirges! The do look good, being the right height for attacking medium sized creatures.

They are a little different than the Bloodbugs, but after combining them, the swarm still looks pretty good. Oh, my. That means I’ll have two dozen Stirges to throw at a party... I think I do like the Bloodbugs a tad more, but I’m well on my way to a storm of stirges if I keep both.

The War of the Dragon Queen Stirge was a pretty cool offering, back in the day when tinies were still a thing. But, a tiny base is one thing, a tiny mini is entirely something else. I feel these older offerings (WotDQ and Demonweb) are just too big looking, and not elevated high enough to give the appearance of swarming.
